Colour

Explanation

The illustration shows polyhedra moving inside the RGB cube. Chameleon-like, each polyhedron takes on the colour represented by its position in the cube. As one polyhedron moves, the others move so as to maintain their formal colour harmony.

These polyhedra have no particular significance. They simply provide another way to visualise the relationship between colours that are formally harmonious.

Observations

• The polyhedra in this illustration follow the same paths in the RGB cube as the ever-changing colours in the more conventional illustration of harmonious colours.
• The same formal relationship can exist between more colours (more polyhedra) or fewer colours (fewer polyhedra).
